Rick Miller, MA, LPC

Life can get messy, and it’s okay to ask for help. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, including many years of clinical experience in the ER, ICU, AND PACU settings. I understand how physical, emotional, and spiritual health all intersect, and I bring that whole-person perspective into every session.
I specialize in working with individuals (13+) navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction (including pornography), marriage/parenting challenges, grief, and the everyday stress that can make life feel overwhelming. Whether you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or just know something needs to change—this is a space where you can be seen, supported, and equipped to move forward.
As someone who’s been married for over 33 years and raised five children, I understand the real-life complexities of family, relationships, and personal growth. I know how deeply our roles—whether as parents, partners, or caregivers—shape us, and I’m passionate about helping others find clarity and strength in those roles. If your faith is important to you, we can absolutely bring that into the counseling process. If not, that's completely respected—this space is about what matters to you.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MA-CMHC) from Liberty University in 2021, and combine my clinical training with practical, evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and motivational techniques. I also believe strongly in the connection between physical and emotional health, and when it fits your goals, I’ll help you explore how diet, movement, and overall lifestyle can support your mental well-being.
Counseling isn’t about being “fixed”—it’s about becoming more whole, more aware, and more free. If you’re ready to take that next step, I’d be honored to walk with you.
