  • What’s Your Grief: An inclusive, practical grief support site offering articles, podcasts, online courses, creative coping tools, and community forums. Created by mental health professionals who specialize in grief.
  • The Dougy Center: A trusted national resource providing support, education, and grief programs for children, teens, young adults, and families who are grieving a death. Offers downloadable guides and videos.
  • Forever Family Foundation: A non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families through grief by providing education, community programs, grief retreats, and scientifically informed resources about death, grief, and life after physical death or the continuation of consciousness after death.
  • They also share information about mediumship and mediums who have passed the foundation’s rigorous, science-based evaluation process, offering additional support for those seeking comfort or understanding after loss.
  • GriefShare: A faith-based grief recovery support group network offering seminars, group meetings, and daily emails for those grieving the death of a loved one. Available in many communities and online.
 Trauma & PTSD
  • National Center for PTSD (U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs): The VA’s resource center for anyone affected by PTSD — not just veterans. Offers research-based information, self-help tools, mobile apps, and treatment options for trauma recovery.
  • PTSD Alliance: A collaborative of organizations providing comprehensive, easy-to-understand education for individuals living with PTSD, their loved ones, and the public. Includes symptom guides, coping tips, and treatment overviews.
Sexual Assault & Abuse Recovery

  • * Spiritual Awakenings International (SAI)®: ✨* Friendswood Counseling Center is honored to be a Spiritual Awakenings International Affiliated Group, committed to supporting clients through the exploration and integration of spiritually transformative experiences (STEs) in a safe and respectful space.
  • SAI is a global non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, networking, and sharing personal experiences related to a wide variety of spiritually transformative experiences (STEs), such as psychic/intuitive awakenings, near-death experiences (NDEs), after-death communications (ADCs), kundalini awakenings, and other profound spiritual shifts.
  • SAI's Upcoming Events & Experiencers Sharing Circles: SAI offers free educational presentations and sharing circles. Sharing circles are a free, monthly opportunity for anyone experiencing Spiritually Transformative Experiences (STEs) to meet with others in a confidential and supportive environment to share and listen.
  • International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS): Provides support, research, and community for individuals who have had near-death experiences (NDEs) and related phenomena. In addition to their research efforts, IANDS offers a wide variety of resources, including educational programs, conferences, workshops, and webinars.
  • IANDS Sharing Groups: IANDS offers free, online and in-person sharing groups, where individuals who have had NDEs or spiritually transformative experiences can safely connect with others, share, learn, find understanding, and receive support.
  • Kundalini Awareness Organization: Offers guidance and education for those undergoing kundalini awakening or spiritual transformation.
  • National Alliance for Mental Illness – Faith & Spirituality: Offers interfaith resources for integrating mental health support with faith traditions. Includes support group guidance, articles, and videos for churches, clergy, and individuals.
  • Guideposts: A Christian-based resource offering devotionals, inspirational stories, prayer opportunities, and community support. Designed for individuals seeking comfort, encouragement, and connection through their faith.
Substance Use, Addiction & Recovery
  • Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): Peer-led support for recovery from alcohol use.
  • Al-Anon Family Groups: Support for families and friends of individuals with alcohol addiction.
